Born in Rio de Janeiro, vocalist Tânia Novak has pursued careers in both opera and Brazilian popular music. Her voice is rich and sweet, and her repertoire ranges from Brazilian bossa nova and popular favorites, to American standards. The ensemble also features Patrick Poladian, a French-born keyboardist who has spent most of his career in the jazz clubs of New York; and Dionísio Santos, from Bahia, Brazil, a multi-talented musician on guitar, bass, and cavaquinho. The trio is expanded, depending on the occasion, by additional members including drums, saxophone, bass and/or percussion. The quality of this ensemble is superb in every aspect, and together they create a very special personality.
