Classic swing, jazz
and blues
Tim
Ouimette (pronounced we-met) is a master arranger, composer, conductor
and trumpeter, a rare blend of talent who brings together an exceptional
group of musicians and two great vocalists to perform a huge repertoire
of the best music from the big band era.
The Tim Ouimette Big Band plays classic swing music from Count Basie and
Duke Ellington to Ray Charles, as well as jazz and blues standards. The
program can be tailored for a dance crowd (weddings, parties, dances),
or if the audience wants to drink and listen, the band is filled with
the best jazz musicians in New York and can entertain an audience all
night. This band knows how to keep the energy up and the crowd partying.
The band is comprised of three saxophones, a trombone, a second trumpet,
an acoustic bass, piano, guitar and drums. Flutes, clarinet and flugelhorns
can be added to the mix. Vocalists are Susan Didrichsen & Steve Kaiser,
but the band can be booked with the vocalist(s) of your choosing.
Tim Ouimette has been part of the New York City jazz scene for the past
25 years and has played for, recorded and toured with the best blues and
jazz bands in the world, including Ray Charles, Dizzy Gillespie, Woody
Shaw, Jon Lucien, Ray Barretto, The Holmes Brothers, Blood, Sweat & Tears,
Ben E. King, and many others. He has performed at The Blue Note, Carnegie
hall, Lincoln Center, Sweet Basil, Tramps, Irving Plaza, The Hollywood
Bowl, and Roseland, as well as major venues in Europe and Canada.
