Marcos Ariel

Piano and vocals, performing Jobim and other favorites

Born in Rio de Janeiro during Carnaval, pianist Marcos Ariel has Rio in his blood, but these days he divides his time between Brazil and the United States. Renowned in both countries as a specialist in the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim, he has recorded several albums of Jobim’s famous music. Besides being an accomplished pianist, Marcos is a charismatic entertainer, and he loves to regale the audience with stories and anecdotes about the beloved Jobim repertoire that has crossed boundaries worldwide. Who, after all, doesn’t know “The Girl From Ipanema” or “Desafinado”?
