A band formed by some of the best musicians in New York playing Latin music, Son de Madre mixes Latin traditions (Cuba, Puerto Rico, Caribbean) with a modern touch and an international flavor, creating a exciting sound that invites feet to dance. The members, who come from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina, the U.S., Israel and Italy, perform son, salsa, timba, cha cha, bolero, funk, ballads, descargas. “We try to mix all of our birth places into one sound.” They’ve performed in all the major clubs in the area, including SOB’s, Flamingo, Latin Quarter, La Belle Epoque, Nell’s, Village Underground, and recently performed at the NJPAC Festival in Newark.
DancersSon De Madre and its members have performed and/or recorded with artists like Celia Cruz, Paquito D’Rivera, Victor Manuel, India, Albita Rodriguez, El Puma, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, and more. They have performed several times on the two largest Spanish television channels, Univision and Telemundo.

The full band consists of 12 musicians, but Son De Madre also works in smaller formations, from trio and up.
